Tracy Hadel LSCSW has been a counselor for 25 years. She also does Skype counseling. She works with children, adults, teens, and families. She is was trained in REBT by Albert Ellis, and has several certifications (see certifications), including Play Therapy, REBT, hypnosis, meditation and mindfulness. She also does Sand Tray Therapy (see image above). Tracy sees a diverse group of clients, including those struggling with drug/alcohol issues, sexual identity, and spiritual orientation. She is a huge supporter of the 12 step program, and respectful of all religions, races, and appreciates one's unique qualities and beliefs. She also facilitates small groups (2-3 people) on Meditation/Mindfulness. In addition, she can meet with parents to give specialized instruction in basic parenting and, also, parenting the difficult or mentally ill child. When her own child was diagnosed with autism, she began receiving specialized training in ASD, because there was little help available, and most specialists had waiting lists. Although she utilized Applied Behavior Analysis to for her son, she found and still utilizes various therapies, including Sand Tray Therapy, BAUD, Social Thinking, Meditation....the list goes on and on. In addition, Ms. Hadel understands the struggles of having a child with autism and mental illness.
Tracy has been trained in the BAUD (bio-acoustical utilization device) developed by Dr. Frank Lawlis of the Lawlis Peavey Center. Dr. Lawlis is a nationally recognized authority in treating ADD, as well as a best-selling author, along with a consultant to Dr. Phil McGraw of the "Dr Phil Show." For more information on BAUD therapy, see www.bluevalleyfamilycounseling.com. She has also been trained through The AMEN CLINIC to assist people who are looking at finding ways to utilize their brains more effectively with supplements, medication, instruments like BAUD, meditation, CBT, etc. Both BAUD and Amen Clinic training have enhanced Ms. Hadel's expertise in assisting those with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Pain, and Emotional Regulation. BAUD is short-term and cost effective, and client feedback on BAUD has been very positive. "As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help the person/parents/family find a more fulfilling life. While we can't change difficult situations (autism, aspergers, PDD, anxiety, mood issues, divorce), we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges. With individualized techniques, I help people change long-standing behavior patterns and negative perceptions. With parenting issues, I also help the parent to better understand the child, and to adjust parenting to fit the needs of the child. Unfortunately, parenting is not a "one size fits all" issue when addressing complex issues."
"If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals." Tracy Hadel LSCSW
